PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pile extracting method which has the advantages, for example, of facilitating the extraction and removal of a pile, of saving time and labor and of preventing damage to the pile and the softening of ground around the pile, by overcoming the problems: the pile installed as a reference point, a boundary point, etc. is forced to be made unnecessary or changed into another type of alternative pile etc. again and again; extraction work in the removal of the pile often requires a lot of time and labor; and the damage to the pile, the softening of the ground around the pile, etc. are caused. SOLUTION: One fitting hole (2) for inserting a rod-like pile extracting member (6), or one or more grooves, constricted parts (3) or protrusions (4) are provided in the upper section (1a) of the pile made of a material such as a synthetic resin, concrete or wood. Otherwise, a step (5) is provided between the upper and lower sections (1a) and (1b) of the pile. In addition, the member (6) and a string-like pile extracting member (7) are mounted on the pile (1) in a latched state, and the pile is extracted by utilizing the principle of a lever.
