Preferably, the permanent storage is a USB Mass Storage, and a USB connector is connected to a body of the barcode reader for transmitting the data saved in the storage to an external device such as a computer for display or for further processing after scanning operations. No data transmission cable is needed to keep the barcode reader with the computer during the scanning operations.</p>
