PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving device capable of performing position control of an object to be driven, with a high precision without being affected by an environmental temperature, and to provide a lens driving device. SOLUTION: The driving device includes a shape memory alloy wire deformable by ohmic heating and the object to be driven which is moved by deformation of the shape memory alloy wire, and an effective movement range is so set that a distortion rate of the shape memory alloy wire corresponding to the effective movement range of the object to be driven is lower than a distortion rate without power supply in an environmental temperature range for use.
