<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery with high capacity and superior characteristic balance capable of making supplementing irreversible capacity that is a problem for Si and Si compounds, without giving rise to new problems, such as generation of gases. <P>SOLUTION: The nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is constituted of a cathode, as well as an anode, capable of electrochemically storing and releasing lithium, and nonaqueous electrolyte, of which the anode contains Si and/or an Si compound and metal lithium particles, having a surface having lithium oxide as its body. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
