A thickener of continuous operation for thickening of not readily condensable pulp contains a tank with bottom, a central steel column, a paddle mechanism with drive for rotation around the central column, a central cylindrical unloading opening, loading branch pipes, an annular overflow gutter, sectional filters from elastic material, sprayers for supplying the flotation reagent. In the central cylindrical unloading opening with a clearance the locking worm conveyor with continuous screw and with mechanism ensuring its reversible rotation around its own axis and displacement in vertical plane relative to the unloading opening is installed. Pulp is supplied from loading branch pipes at an angle with radially located hollow pontoon elements being trapezoid in the plan and external surface of curvilinear form, which rotate relative to the central column.
