The invention relates to a device for picking sheets one at a time from a plurality of sheets in a ream in which the sheets are reciprocally aligned, for feedin g of the sheets along a path. The device comprises a rotating means feeding rolle r; a tray for holding the ream, normally disposed at a distance from the main feeding roller and adapted to be moved so as to cyclically bring the ream in to contact with the main feeding roller. At least one auxiliary roller is arranged parallel and adjacent to the main feeding roller, the former being adapted f or counter rotation and contact with the sheets to permit their correct separation from the ream, without the feeding of double sheets occurring. The arrangement is free of the tendency to deform sheets of the ream to which prior feeding devices are subject.
