PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a black matrix for color filters which is inexpensive and has excellent light shieldability and excellent solvent resistance and adhesiveness to substrates and a resist compsn. SOLUTION: This black matrix for color filters is formed by using carbon black having an average particle size of 40 to 300nm as a black pigment. This resist compsn. for the black matrix contains this carbon black, a photopolymn. initiator compsn. and an ethylene compd. As a result, the excellent light shieldability is obtd. if the carbon black has the large particle size. The black matrix having the excellent light shieldability, solvent resistance and the excellent adhesiveness to the substrate is produced in a short time even if the film thickness is thin. |
