摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an AC transmission system which utilizes an existing AC transmission line efficiently, eliminates the influence of the reactance of the existing transmission line, improves the transmission capability of the transmission line, and permits the long distance transmission. SOLUTION: Series compensators SCG are linked with respective transmission lines with which respective substations SS are connected to each other to regulate the equivalent reactances of the transmission lines, and to improve the transmission capability of an AC transmission system as a whole. The series compensator SCG generates a voltage whose phase is shifted from the phase of a current flowing through the transmission line by an electrical angle of 90 deg. and which compensates a voltage decline produced by a reactance equivalently. If an electrical oscillation (power disturbance) is generated in the transmission line, the power fluctuation of the transmission line is detected and the compensation voltage of the series compensator SCG is controlled so as to suppress the power fluctuation, so that the power disturbance can be suppressed quickly.
