发明名称 New or improved method and apparatus for the production of artificial silk and the like
摘要 311,391. Borzykowski, B. May 11, 1928, [Convention date]. Twisting machines with twisting-arrangements at delivery; spindle apparatus.-Artificial silk &c., as originally wound on bobbins, or as cakes after washing and, if desired, after other appropriate treatments, is then, either in the wet state or after drying rewound directly and without intermediate rewinding into bobbins, cheeses, cops, quills, &c., in the forms necessary for weaving or knitting. Suitable apparatus for transferring the dried and purified thread from the spinning-bobbin to the weaving or knitting bobbin &c. comprises a twisting-spindle b<1>, Fig. 1, on which the spinning-bobbin b is mounted and from which it is led through a friction device g comprising adjustable interlocking fingers to a winding-spool c driven by a friction roller d; depending on the character of the former used for the spool c and the relative speed of traverse of the guide f, the final product may be a crosswound conical or cylindrical bobbin, a cop. or a warping-bobbin. In the treatment of cakes as spun by the centrifuge method, in order to prevent damage to the cake as it is being removed from the spinning pot, the latter may be provided with a removable perforated lining n, Figs. 6 and 7, formed of a plurality of parts provided with projecting ears o; the lining bears against ribs k formed on the interior of the spinning-pot, and the ears o engage grooves m; alternatively, existing pots may be employed, a lining consisting of a multi-part ring n, Fig. 7, are of a resilient ring n', Fig. 8, provided with stiffening ribs s, being employed. Better to protect the threads, the lining or rings may be lined with muslin. During the formation of the cake, washing liquid is supplied through the spinning-funnel: after the washing operation is completed, softening-liquid is supplied to the spinning pot, a resilient perforated sleeve v, Fig. 6, having first been inserted in the cake to protect the inner layers of threads. If desulphurized or dyed threads are desired, then before removal of the cake from the spinning-pot and while the latter is in rotation desulphurizing, dyeing, &c. liquors are supplied to the interior of the cake. Alternatively these operations may be carried out by the use of a double-walled centrifuge c, Fig. 10, provided also with an inner removable ring n, the space w between the perforated inner wall and the solid outer wall communicating with passages w<1> discharging at points near the socket for the spindle. For the after-treatments the pot is mounted on a seating y forming part of a suction system z, and washed or otherwise treated with liquid in the manner described in Specification 239,482, [Class 15 (i) Dyeing &c., Apparatus for], or the pot mav be fitted with a tightly-fitting cover 2, Fig. 11. provided with a connection 3 through which the liquid is forced; a resilient sleeve v is preferably fitted in the interior of the cake during these treatments. With a spinning- pot of this construction the cake may be washed during the spinning operation, or washing may be carried out after the removal of the pot from the spinning-machine and in the same manner as the after-treatments. The above-described methods may be used in the manufacture of viscose, cuprammonia, nitrocellulose and acetylcellulose silks. Specifications 2906/06, [Class 15, Bleaching &c.], 206,492, 226,808, 250,303, 268,783, 287,097, [all in Class 2 (ii), Cellulose &c.], and 325,246 also are referred to.
