<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas diffusion electrode for solid polymer fuel cell having an excellent conductivity, its manufacturing method, and a solid polymer fuel cell equipped with the same. <P>SOLUTION: This gas diffusion electrode is a gas diffusion electrode for solid polymer fuel cell, and (1) the electrode is a conductive porous body, and (2) a metal coating formed by a gas phase is provided at a part or whole of the surface of the porous body.
