PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera in which a shutter signal can be transmitted efficiently from a lens unit to a camera body depending on the photography mode. SOLUTION: The digital camera 10 comprises a camera body 11, and a lens unit 12 attached removably to the camera body 11. The lens unit 12 is provided with an antenna 17 and the camera body 11 is provided with an antenna 27. In a remote photography mode, each shutter signal S1, S2 is transmitted to the lens unit 12 by radio by means of these antennas 17 and 27 when a shutter button 25 is depressed. In a normal photography mode, each shutter signal S1, S2 is transmitted to the camera body 11 by signal lines 81a, 81b and 82a, 82b when the shutter button 25 is depressed.
