PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid container which can collect unnecessary liquid smoothly, and to provide a liquid ejector. SOLUTION: A collection tank 24 comprises a bottomed rectangular box type container 30 having an opening 30a on the upper side, and a rectangular planar lid 40 for closing the opening 30a of the container 30. In a containing space S formed by the container 30 and the lid 40, a moistening liquid is contained in the initial stage for collecting waste ink in the containing space S.
