PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an audio apparatus having a rewritable control program stored in a flash memory, which easily achieves smooth sound confirmation of a version of the control program with a simple circuit configuration without the need for addition of an exclusive display section and an exclusive circuit. SOLUTION: The audio apparatus provided with the flash memory for storing the control program and version information of the control program, allows a tuner section to output a detection signal denoting non-reception of a radio broadcast program when receiving entry of an instruction of confirming the version information of the control program, and to output a version information confirmation signal comprising: periods when the detection signal is output on the basis of the version information; and periods when the detection signal is muted under the mute control of an amplifier section for outputting an audio signal.
