PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic wave-shielding coating material to be coated on the surface of an interior in a room of a building to which a countermeasure for the electromagnetic wave shielding is to be taken; and to provide an electromagnetic wave-shielded structure using the electromagnetic wave-shielding coating material. SOLUTION: The electromagnetic wave-shielding coating material containing a synthetic resin emulsion and a nickel powder contains further a thickener having a carboxy group. The synthetic resin emulsion has the carboxy group, and the nickel powder is one of a chain-shaped nickel powder and a scale-shaped nickel powder. The pH of the electromagnetic wave-shielding coating material is regulated so as to be 8-10, and the coated film after drying has 50-330% breaking elongation. The electromagnetic wave-shielded structure is obtained by coating the electromagnetic wave-shielding coating material on a groundwork so that the coated film after drying may have 0.01-10Ωsurface resistance.
