PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To expand the operational frequency bandwidth of an antenna while suppressing enlargement of the antenna. SOLUTION: The monopole antenna (10) comprises a substrate (12), an earth conductor (20) provided on one major surface (12a) of the substrate, and an antenna element (15) provided on its major surface. The antenna element (15) has an antenna conductor (17), and an inductor (18) connected to the way of the antenna conductor (17). The inductor has a conductor (30) connected electrically with the antenna conductor (17), and a magnetic body (32) touching the conductor (30). Permeability of the magnetic body varies with a negative inclination against the frequency of a radio wave radiated from or received by the antenna element. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
