PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent furniture from falling by using an device which consists of an upper plate, a lower plate and a bellows-shaped air bag and absorbs shocks of an earthquake. SOLUTION: A furniture earthquake-proof plate having a bellows-shaped air bag 3 between an upper plate 1 and a lower plate 2, which are light-weighted and strong, is inserted into a gap between furniture and a ceiling. When the bellows-shaped air bag 3 is filled with air from an air inlet 4 of the bellows-shaped air bag by an outside air pump 4, the upper plate 1 is lifted by the bellows-shaped air bag 3 and attached to the ceiling tightly. The bellows-shaped air bag 3 adsorbs the energy of strong shocks of an earthquake and supports the piece of furniture without applying a strong force to the ceiling.
