PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of suppressing electrolytic corrosion and having high reliability. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is provided with: an array substrate 200 with pixel electrodes arranged in the respective display pixels like a matrix; a counter substrate 300 with at least one layer of insulating layer 350 arranged between a light shielding layer 340 which shields light among the display pixels and a counter electrode 330; a sealant 110 which sticks the array substrate 200 to the counter substrate 300 ;and a liquid crystal layer 400 held between the pixel electrode and the counter electrode.
