PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcasting receiver and a broadcast receiving method for easily confirming the statuses of the information record of broadcast content. SOLUTION: A video buffer 119 decides continuity of a TS packet and continuity of video PES data, and when they are not continuous, it is decided that reception has failed. Then, the video buffer 119 detects recording statuses from the number of successful reception and the number of the unsuccessful reception in a predetermined summarization period. A video decoder part 110 makes a second display part 115 display an image where the success and failure of recording can be recognized by a user on the basis of the recording statuses.
