<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lower power consumption of a drive system as well as a sensor, and efficiently lower the power consumption according to printing request and a state of a paper feeding means, in a paper-feed unit. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming device comprises a printing means (image forming part) for printing an image; the paper feeding means (paper-feed unit) for feeding paper to the printing means; a power supply means (power supply part 30) for supplying electrical power to respective parts of a printer 1; and an interruption switching means (interruption switching control part of a main control part 100) for performing, independently with respect to various operation control parts, switching between interruption and non-interruption of the power supply from the power supply means to the respective operation control parts of the paper feeding means including conveyance control parts 403, 503, 603, and 703 for controlling paper conveyance operation, sensor control parts 404, 504, 604, and 704 for controlling operation of various sensors, and a lift control parts 405, 505, 605, and 705 for controlling paper lifting and lowering operation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
