PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow an optical finder to be mounted while reducing the shape of the main body even in the case of a digital camera of a thin type or card type such that bends its optical axis. SOLUTION: A folding type mirror 228 comprises a half mirror 250 and a mirror 251 for changing the optical path and optical length of incident light by being inclined to 45°on the optical path. When photographing is not carried out, the mirrors are stored on the back of the main body by being folded on the same plane. When photographing is carried out, the folding type mirror 228 is raised by inclining the half mirror 240 and mirror 251 to 45°. Light passed through a filter 253 and a lens 254 is reflected by the half mirror 250 and mirror 251, to form an image on the CCD 255 of a substrate 300. At this time, part of light made incident on the half mirror 250 is externally transmitted and, thereby, the half mirror 250 functions as an optical finder for projecting a subject.
