PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake structure capable of generating a still more stable, certain operating force, eliminating the sticking phenomenon or the squeaking phenomenon, and securing the braking force when wetted with water. SOLUTION: The brake structure includes an inner shoe 5 in the shape of circular arc with one end borne by a frame member 1 and an outer shoe 7 borne by the other end of the inner shoe 5, whereby a braking operation allows the inner shoe 5 and the outer shoe 7 to pinch by pressure the inside and outside of a brake drum 4 so as to generate a braking force. The arrangement therein is such that the operating force of an operating arm 2 swinging with the braking operation acts on the back face of the outer shoe 7, and thereby it is possible for the operational force from the operating arm 2 to act on the outer shoe 7 stably with runoff suppressed without dispersing wastefully the pressing force of an outer lining 8 to the drum 4.
