<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer and an ink supply method, which enable a proper quantity of ink to be supplied to each key zone by correcting the horizontal flow of the ink. <P>SOLUTION: This printer comprises an ink supply device for supplying the ink to each ink supply zone, and an ink supply control means for setting the target value of the quantity of the ink supplied to each ink supply zone and controlling the ink supply device so that the quantity of the ink supplied to each ink supply zone can reach the target value. The ink supply control means comprises an image-line rate acquiring means for acquiring an image-line rate of a printing pattern, and a correction means for reducing and correcting the target value of a high image-line rate zone, the image-line rate of which is higher than an image-line rate threshold, by a predetermined correction amount from the image-line rate of each ink supply zone, acquired by the image-line rate acquiring means, when the target value of the quantity of the ink supplied to the ink supply zone reaches a lower limit and the ink density of a printing sheet exceeds a tolerance. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
