PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor laser element in which productivity is sufficient, management on manufacture is easy, and a high reflection factor, the reflection factor of 85% or above, for example, can be obtained in a reflection face; and to provide a manufacturing method of the element. SOLUTION: The semiconductor laser element 50 having a pair of almost parallel resonator faces A and B is provided with a first metallic compound film 25 formed on one resonator face A, a metal film 26 formed on the first metallic compound film 25, a second metallic compound film 27 formed on the metal film 26, and a compound multilayer film 22.
