PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolling bearing for a submersible pump keeping lubricating property and rotating property of the bearing constant for a long period to enable water sucked from a water intake into a pump casing to be efficiently discharged from a discharge opening. SOLUTION: The submersible pump comprises an impeller rotatably disposed in the pump casing and a plurality of rolling bearings rotatably supporting a rotary shaft to which the impeller is attached, wherein the rolling bearing comprises bearing rings (inner ring 14, outer ring 16) disposed opposite for rotation relative to each other, a plurality of rolling elements (balls) 18 interposed between the bearing rings for rolling, and sealing plates 32, 34 provided on opposite sides of the bearing. In the rolling bearing (ball bearing 12) situated nearer the impeller, at least the sealing plate 34 on the impeller side has a construction that a proximal end 34a is fixed to one (outer ring) of the bearing rings and a distal end 34b contacts in a circumferential direction with an annular seal groove 36 formed in the other bearing ring (inner ring).
