PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating method of a rare earth sintered magnet which is capable of uniforming the film thickness even if the magnet is located at the outermost peripheral part of a tray in spray coating. SOLUTION: The film thickness of the side face at the outer peripheral side is secured in the magnet element 10 of the outermost peripheral side by forming the dummy work 30 or the stage part and convex part similar to the same at the outer peripheral side upon forming the film by spraying the coating on the surface of the magnet element 10 rowed on the tray 11. As to the film thickness in the magnet element 10 of the outermost peripheral side, the side face may be made thicker than the upper face or the upper face may be made thicker than the side face while securing the sufficient film thickness by adequately setting the width and the height of the dummy work 30 and the space between the dummy work and the magnet element 10 of the outermost peripheral side.
