PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system and communication terminals constituting the communication system by which the amount of communication and the time necessary for possessing authentication information such as a public key certificate and its invalidation information, are reduced. SOLUTION: Communication terminals (nodes A, D and E) are selected as relay terminals out of communication terminals adjacent to a communication terminal (node S) which generates or receives authentication information, and the terminals broadcast the received authentication information. In this way, the authentication information is forwarded to all the communication terminals further adjacent to all the communication terminals adjacent to the communication terminal which generates or receives the authentication information. All the communication terminals constituting the communication system possess the identical authentication information by repeating these operations. Since the authentication information is forwarded simultaneously and in one direction from the communication terminal which is the generator of the authentication information, the amount of communication and the time are reduced which are necessary for the communication terminals constituting the communication system to possess the authentication information.
