PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plug for a hollow shaft capable of maintaining assembly work efficiency against unevenness in dimension of the inside diameter of a small diameter hole and ensuring high sealing performance. SOLUTION: This plug for the hollow shaft is formed at the outer periphery of a plug main body by an elastic material, protrudes from outside diameter of a pedestal rib provided annularly in the plug main body and having smaller diameter than that of an internal wall of a large diameter hole while the plug main body is mounted in the large diameter hole, and falls down in the opposite direction to the direction of insertion so that a seal lip comes into pressure-contact with the internal wall of the large diameter hole elastically.
