PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce chord vibration without causing friction loss. SOLUTION: This silent chain 1 is constituted by stacking many link plates 2 having a pair of tooth parts 22 and a pair of pin holes 21 in the direction of thickness and the longitudinal direction, arranging guide plates 4, 4' on the outermost side of the link plate 2, and connecting them by a connection pin 3. In this case, weight of the guide plate 4' is larger than weight of the guide plate 4, and these guide plates 4, 4' exist in the longitudinal direction of the chain irregularly and mixedly. Consequently, natural frequency can be changed in an arbitrary chain span and chord vibration can be reduced without causing friction loss. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
