PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cleaning device which allows a proper amount of toner to be surely carried on a surface of a rotating member and is capable of holding a suitable cleaning performance for an image carrier surface. SOLUTION: A cleaning device 80 includes a polishing roller 82 being a main rotating member, a cleaning blade 84, and an auxiliary roller 85 being an auxiliary rotating member. The polishing roller 82 is provided so as to be pressed to a photoreceptor drum 22 with a prescribed force. The cleaning blade 84 is disposed below in a rotation direction of the photoreceptor drum 22 and below in a vertical direction. The auxiliary roller 85 is disposed between the polishing roller 82 and the cleaning blade 84, and a space S1 which is surrounded with the photoreceptor drum 22, the polishing roller 82, the cleaning blade 84, and the auxiliary roller 85 and allows toner to be stayed therein is formed.
