PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combine harvester so designed that the vertical position of a cutting blade device is made variable based on the vertical motion of a pretreatment section, thus enabling the vertical position of the cutting blade device to always be altered accurately, surely and properly without being accompanied by significant cost increase. SOLUTION: The combine harvester is such that a control unit 60 for controlling the height of the cutting blade device 30 is constituted of a microcomputer, whose input side is connected with a pretreatment height detective sensor 15 and a cutting blade height detective sensor 55, while the output side being connected with a cutting blade-vertically moving motor 51. The control unit 60 works as follows: Based on the output of the pretreatment height detective sensor 15, whether the pretreatment section lies at its operable position or not is judged, and if the judgement is YES, the target value for the cutting blade device is set and the motor 51 is actuated in accordance with the target value to make a control of the height of the cutting blade device.
