<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a colored curable composition having high storage stability and excellent in heat and light stabilty of a formed pattern image, and a color filter using the composition and a method for producing the color filter. <P>SOLUTION: The colored curable composition contains a dye represented by formula (I), wherein R<SP>1</SP>-R<SP>6</SP>each independently represent hydrogen atom or a substituent; R<SP>7</SP>and R<SP>8</SP>each independently represent hydrogen atom, alkyl, alkenyl, aryl or a heterocyclic group; Za and Zb each independently represent -N= or -C(R<SP>9</SP>)=, R<SP>9</SP>represents hydrogen atom or a substituent, and R<SP>3</SP>and R<SP>4</SP>, R<SP>4</SP>and R<SP>8</SP>, R<SP>5</SP>and R<SP>6</SP>, R<SP>6</SP>and R<SP>7</SP>, and/or R<SP>7</SP>and R<SP>8</SP>can bond to each other to form a 5-, 6- or 7-membered ring.
