<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium secondary battery having higher capacity than that being obtained when graphite particles are used as a negative active material, smaller electric resistance of a mix layer than that being obtained when Si particle are used as the negative active material, and high charge discharge cycle characteristics, and to provide a method of manufacturing the lithium secondary battery. <P>SOLUTION: The lithium secondary battery contains Sn negative active material particles and a negative electrode binder in the negative active material of a negative electrode, and the negative electrode binder is fused with the Sn negative active material particles and/or a negative current collector, and the Sn negative active material is an intermetallic compound represented by Sn<SB>X</SB>M<SB>1-X</SB>(1>X≥1/2, and M=Mn, Fe, Co, Ni). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
