PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a server and a client apparatus capable of providing execution of optimum operation in each apparatus without troubling a user when disaster notifying information is received. SOLUTION: The server and the client apparatus are connected by a local network, the server receives information relevant to an external server received by the client apparatus, and on the basis of the information relevant to the external server, transmission is requested to the external server for disaster operation information. In response to the disaster operation information request, the disaster operation information is transmitted from the external server, and the server receives and stores the transmitted disaster operation information. When the disaster notifying information is received notifying that there is or there will be a disaster, operation instructions are sent to the client device on the basis of the stored disaster operation information.
