METHOD FOR PRODUCING TONER, AND POSITIVE CHARGING NONMAGNETIC ONE COMPONENT TONER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further stabilize the charging property of toner (particularly a positive charging nonmagnetic one component toner). SOLUTION: The positive charging nonmagnetic one component toner is produced in steps of: subjecting a charge control agent comprising a synthetic resin into which a polar group having a quaternary ammonium salt structure is introduced, in a dissolved or swollen state in an organic solvent, to emulsification in an aqueous medium to obtain an emulsified liquid; removing the organic solvent from the emulsified liquid to obtain a suspension liquid of the charge control agent; consecutively mixing a suspension liquid of toner mother particles containing a binder resin and a colorant with the suspension liquid of the charge control agent; and further heating the mixture of the suspension liquid of toner mother particles with the suspension liquid of the charge control agent to deposit the charge control agent on the surfaces of the toner mother particles. The amount of the charge control agent deposited on the surfaces of the toner mother particles is controlled to 0.2 to 3.0 wt.% with respect to the whole toner. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
