Method for determining the suitability of a material as infill material in artificial turf fields, comprising the steps of subjecting a sample of the material to a combination of a static force and a dynamic force superimposed on said static force, said dynamic force being imposed with a frequency chosen in the range of 0.1 to 100 Hz, measuring at least the dynamic force and the corresponding impression of the sample and deriving relevant parameters from the measured data and from the sample after having been subjected to said forces.
