<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assemble a suspension including a suspension spring to a vehicle body, the suspension being of the type in which a suspension spring is independently interposed between a lower arm and the vehicle body. SOLUTION: An assembly jig 52 supporting a suspension SR is provided with a gripper 9 for a suspension spring, in such a way that the gripper 9 is free to move between an operating position wherein it advances into the upwardly projected plane of a lower arm D and a retreated position wherein it is separated outward of the projected plane. The gripper 9 is moved to the operating position to grip the suspension spring 1 placed on the lower arm D, and in that state the assembly jig 52 is moved relative to a vehicle body thereabove to assemble the suspension SR to the vehicle body. After assembly, the gripper 9 is moved to the retreated position to prevent the gripper 9 from interfering with the lower arm D, and in that sate the assembly jig 52 is lowered relative to the vehicle body.</p> |
