PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cargo handling vehicle capable of demonstrating, even in any specified operating condition, the same turning ability as in a usual operating condition. SOLUTION: This invention is characterized in that a steering mechanism 10 is equipped with a control unit 12 that sets a correlation between the turned angleθof a steering wheel 6 and the steered angleϕof a steered wheel 4, wherein the control unit, when accommodating no occupant, sets the steered angle of the steered wheel 4 in proportion to the turned angle of the steering wheel 6, and when accommodating occupant(s), the correlation between the steered angle of the steered wheel 4 and the turned angle of the steering wheel 6 is canceled if the amount of the operation of the steering wheel 6 exceeds a predetermined value, whereby the steered wheel 4 is steered in a predetermined steering mode.
