<p>A scanning microscope comprises a pulsed light beam (3), a scanning unit (7) to guide the beam through the microscope optics (13) over or through an object (15) and a detector (19) of light from the object producing a detection signal. A decoupling element (60) in the beam steers at least one part of the beam onto a detector (61) that detects the pulse of the light source and supplies the scanner pulse signal. An independent claim is also included for a method of operating the microscope above.</p> |
