The invention relates to the methods of mechanical processing by pressure of sheet material. Each of the methods for manufacturing the strip shaped material includes formation on the billet by local drawing of periodically repeated in staggered rows stiffeners with the recesses on one side of the billet and corresponding protrusions on the oppositeside. The form of the side of recess corresponds to the form of the lateral surface of truncated pyramid. The height of stiffeners makes 0.2-3.0 of the thicknesses of billet. Stiffeners are formed at a distance, which for 5-30 times exceeds the thickness of billet. In accordance with the second embodiment of the invention, the bases of stiffeners, which are periodically repeated from both sides on the width of billet, are located in one section of billet.
