#CMT# #/CMT# The process comprises introducing a foam into a pipe, followed by a pusher plug (1) with a shape enabling it to force the foam through the pipe. The dimensions of the plug are preferably between 300 and 600 mm long and 30-310 mm in diameter, and at least one of the plug's two ends (pe, de) is fitted with a wire (f) for drawing it through the pipe. Alternatively, the plug can be moved along the pipe by pressure or a vacuum, with the wire used to control its movement, which can be continuous or discontinuous, with stops allowing for more prolonged contact with the cleaning foam. The foam is made, e.g. from a surfactant, a decontamination agent and a viscosity former, and is used at a temperature of 10-50[deg]C. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Cleaning and decontaminating drainage pipes, especially in nuclear fuel reprocessing plants. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The plug provides for more efficient pipe cleaning, suitable for use in industry and reducing the volume of cleaning material effluent, its concentration and the duration of the cleaning operation. #CMT#DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS : #/CMT# The drawings show perspective view of the plug and a diagram of a system employing it. 1 : Plug 38 : Foam solution 42 : Agitator ai : Plug rings ax : Axis de, pe : Plug ends G : Foam generator T : Pipe v : Valves #CMT#POLYMERS : #/CMT# Preferred Material: The pipe cleaning plug is made from polyethylene. |
