[Class 100 (ii).] Apparatus for creasing cardboard, strawboard, or the like h in the manufacture of boxes, packing cases, &c., comprises two parallel wheels a between which the material during its movement is deflected and simultaneously caused to follow the peripheral contours of the wheels. For this purpose, a deflector member c is employed having an operative edge c<1> which commences externally of the wheels and terminates between them and is of arcuate shape so as to cause the material h to follow the contours of the wheels. Discs g pressing the material h against the wheels a assist in this action. The wheels a may be bevelled along the peripheral parts of their inner faces for operating on thin board, and the peripheries may be bevelled to conform to the slight tendency of the material to bend upwardly on each side of the crease. The creased part may be disposed either externally or internally of the box when the material is bent to form the box. |
