PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a page pressing device capable of simultaneously holding down the top and bottom of a book to keep a stable paper surface all the time, by holding down the up-and-down margin part of an open book to keep a flat paper surface, different from usual cases where a paperweight is placed or a clip is used to clasp the margin part, resulting in having the written part hidden, distorted or the like causing frequently difficulties to read against the user's inclination. SOLUTION: The page pressing device is provided with a case 2 which incorporates the major part of page pressing metal fittings 3 near the side or in the upper part of a pedestal in size and shape to be easily handled. The upper part of the case can be moved to be fixed, according to the size of a book and has a mechanism in which the upper and lower pressing metal fittings are coupled to run by means of connecting bars. The tensile strength of a coiled spring is applied for the opening and closing of the pressing metal fittings and for the pressing force. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
