<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell stack formed compact by achieving reduction of the number of parts. <P>SOLUTION: In this fuel cell, a fuel cell stack is formed by layering an ion conductive membrane/electrode assembly and a generator portion having a separator. By the separator, flow passages are formed for the flows of fuel gas and/or oxidizing agent gas, a humidifier is provided through which fuel and/or oxidizing agent gas, and cooling water flow via a water permeable membrane is formed for every one or a plurality of the generator portions.
