<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording composition and an optical recording medium that facilitates recording with lower sensitivity, allows use of an inexpensive laser and reduces the writing time. <P>SOLUTION: The optical recording composition contains a monomer represented by at least structural formula (1). The invention also discloses an optical recording medium using the composition.
