<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for an optical recording medium which prevents deterioration of reproduction of a light image with time by consuming a monomer remaining in an unpolymerized portion by means other than polymerization after optical recording, and which allows high density recording of a light image and high density record reproduction by accurate read, to provide an optical recording medium using the composition for an optical recording medium, and to provide an optical recording method and an optical reproduction method using the optical recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: The composition for an optical recording medium contains at least: a binder; a polymerizable monomer containing an ethylenic double bond; a photoinitiator; and a compound which generates a compound capable of reacting with an ethylenic double-bond by an external stimulus.
