<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gate system for a container terminal, capable of smoothing cargo handling work by surely identifying a head or a chassis coming into the container terminal at its entrance gate when a container is carried out upon request, thus actualizing the non-stop operation of the entrance gate of the container terminal. <P>SOLUTION: A marine cargo carrier registers cargo handling work for carrying a container out via the Internet 1 in a database 6 and notifies a land cargo carrier of an acquired reservation number and cargo handling work content to consign land transport. The land cargo carrier arranges a driver, orders the work content and informs him of the reservation number. The driver accesses a web server 3 via a mobile-phone 9 and inputs a plate number or the like to identify the head 8 and the chassis 7 from the reservation number to reception information.
