<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust manifold temperature estimation device for an internal combustion engine capable of accurately estimating the temperature of the inside of an exhaust manifold. <P>SOLUTION: This temperature estimation device estimates the temperature of the inside of the exhaust manifold by using a function in which a variable including a coefficient of restriction area of variable nozzle increasing and decreasing the air amount force-fed by a variable nozzle type turbocharger is used as an argument Tex. The argument Tex is expressed by an indicated injection amount × fuel flow × equivalent ratio × supercharging pressure ÷ pressure in exhaust manifold ÷ coefficient of restriction area of variable nozzle.
