PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently remove deposits by performing an adequate treatment when a part of a workpiece is deposited on a shoulder part of a rotary tool. SOLUTION: In a rotary tool treatment device 60 of a friction spot welding device, a plurality of metallic members overlap each other, and a rotary tool 16 is rotatably pressed against the metallic members to perform the spot welding. The rotary tool treatment device 60 comprises a driving means for rotatably pressing the rotary tool 16 against the metallic members, a moving means for moving the rotary tool 16 to the welding position, a detection means for detecting any deposition state of the metallic members on a shoulder part 16b, and a control means which locates the rotary tool 16 facing a metallic member W3 for treatment by the moving means when the detection signal by the detection means indicates the deposition state of a predetermined value or over, presses a pin part 16c and a shoulder part 16b against the metallic member W3 for treatment while rotating the rotary tool 16 by the driving means, and performs the operation of removing deposits W1a.
