PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine for variably displaying patterns by an electronic display device capable of realizing an operation feeling similar to a conventional game machine. SOLUTION: The game machine comprises an image display part having a plurality of variable display areas where identification information is variably displayed in a variable display game, a game control means for controlling a game and a display control means for updating an image to be displayed on the image display part at a prescribed interval and variably displaying the identification information, the variably displayed identification information is stop-displayed by the operation input of a stop operation part, and the result of the variable display game is decided in relation to the combination of the stopped identification information. In the game machine, the game control means holds image kind information displayed at a timing immediately before at the image display part, transmits the image kind information to be displayed at the next timing on the image display part, and judges a game result by the held image kind information when detecting the operation input of the stop operation part.
