A clotheshorse (1) comprises a support structure including two support elements (2', 2'') relatively spaceable and/or movable close relative to one another for changing from an open to a closed configuration, at least one hanging surface (9) for keeping the material to be dried hung and a rest surface (14) arranged at a lower height relative to the hanging surface. The hanging surface is hinged at a first transversal end (10) to the first support element. The rest surface is openable and closable between the open and the closed configuration of the clotheshorse. The hanging surface is removably connectable at the other transversal end to the second support element, when the clotheshorse is in the open configuration. An independent claim is included for a peg or device for holding an item to hang e.g. an item to lay for drying.
